The best meal I have had since moving to Lincoln 22 years ago. 10 out of 10 for the food, service and ambience.
Well the good was okay, but massively overpriced for what it is, of you are on the Christmas menu there's a good chance you'll leave this meal still hungry. The vegetables in the main dish were coated which makes me think they are keeping these warmed in the kitchen. Nothing particularly wrong with the food but it just doesn't stand out.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu tonight. Recommended by two local friends who joined us for dinner. Knowledgeable and friendly staff who served amazing food. Personally I am not a custard fan (desert course) and the kitchen staff were so accommodating, suggesting and serving delicious alternative. Highly recommended. Will definitely return when visiting our friends in Lincoln.
AMAZING. from the restaurant to the room, just perfect. Had the taster menu which was delicious, and the matching wines were great!Staff lovely. Our room was so cute and quirky and I had the best night sleep, very quiet and warm. Great place I want to go back!!!
It's a small restaurant with a reputation for serving great food and having prices to match. It was our first visit so apart from reading a few reviews and what we'd heard from friends we didn't know what to expect. We were seated in the front space directly opposite the kitchen door which afforded us the chance to hear everything said in the kitchen. The order was taken quickly and our fresh bread supplied. Our food came quickly and was very enjoyable but we just got a sense that we might be fed and gone a bit soon. Our mini taster came on a piece of slate and was fine, even if we didn't know what was in it. Then I caught sight of our server using his unwashed hands to prepare the tasters for other customers and thought I'd seen enough. In summary, delicious fresh food well cooked but the experience was marred by sloppy service and standards. We probably won't return.
