Can't believe they make students pay to park. University costs enough as it is without paying for parking. When I went to Bishop Grosseteste University I didn't have to pay to park. I sent many emaiks around asking about parking, UoL has stupidly sold off the car park after 5pm so council. Asked council about a parking permit and it costs 500 (a ridiculous fee when there is hardly any MA funding). And UoL wouldnt let me park there for free during university hours. I don't reccomend going to this university if you plan on commuting in a car or a bike. It is not a commuter friendly university. I asked the SU and the university director about shower facilities (as i planning in biking) and none of them knew. I had to find and look myself. When I did find shower facilities they wouldn't open till 9am, so if I had an early lecture u wouldn't be able to shower after cycling in. To top it off there are no lockers provided to put bike stuff and the bike sheds are abysmal. The lockers don't work and have trash in them and they're not even closed off. Just open to the public. All reasons adding to why I quit doing a Masters here!
