Fantastic old fashioned cafe with great food and great coffee- what more would you want
A truly outstanding coffee shop. Perched across the canal with multiple floors. There are a great range of coffee and teas to choose from, alongside some fabulous food. Worth calling in if in Lincoln centre at all.
I spent many hours with friends at Stokes some years ago when we were living at Waddington. I worked for the newspaper group across the main road.and had lunch there often. The staff were very helpful in getting our food to us quickly so that we could get back to work on time. After moving to Malta, we returned to Lincoln and Stokes became our coffee shop again. Not working on this occasion, I had more time for leisurely visits and shopping. Stokes is perfectly placed as the place to eat and drink when shopping up and down the High Street and after walking up to and down from the car parks. The food was very good and looking out of the window overlooking the bridge was a pleasant way to spend your time whilst eating. Eating and drinking their very good coffee outside is also a pleasure and that is where I took the photos of the Red Arrows. O.K. they were draped across the street but it is the nearest I ever got to seeing them in formation. The building is beautiful and together with its reputation, Stokes is the place take a break whilst visiting Lincoln.
Really like this Caf in the core of Lincoln.Take your time while indulging yourself with a great choice of beverages and cakes.Look to know more about the history of Stokes and how he did managed his coffee business in England.Don't miss the narrow exits on both sides of the house and have a go for a short walk to see the back of the old mansion.A must to visit when in Lincoln!
Use to visit this place with my Dad 30+ years ago, so good to see it still going strong. Three floors with great history, great smell of coffee as you enter. Stopped in for a light lunch and drinks, the menu was not extensive but okay. Great range of coffees and teas, some of which were on the menu 30 years ago.
